Chris Howard

Chris Howard is Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of Arizona State University since February of 2022, after serving as the 8th President of Robert Morris University and President of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia. At the United States Air Force Academy, Howard was a running back and First-Team Academic All-American. He received the Campbell Trophy, college football’s highest honor awarding academics, community service and on-field performance. Howard was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Afghanistan as an intelligence officer with the elite Joint Special Operations Command, and is now a retired Air Force reserve lieutenant colonel.
