Dr. Michael McCrea is the Shekar N. Kurpad, MD, PhD, Chair of Neurosurgery, as well as Professor, Vice-Chair of Research, and Co-Director of the Neurotrauma Research Center, and Director of Brain Injury Research at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) in Milwaukee. He has led several large, multi-center studies on the effects of traumatic brain injury and sport-related concussion. He currently is co-PI on the NCAA-DoD CARE Consortium and several other large-scale studies investigating the acute and chronic effects of TBI in various populations at risk.
